OnePlus 12R 5G first look: The OnePlus 12R 5G Smartphone has arrived, bringing a huge upgrade from the OnePlus 11R. Today we will tell you everything about it. The OnePlus 12R has been launched in China as the OnePlus ACE 3, we have the same unit. Smartphone and back case, 100W charger is provided in the box.

Design & Build Quality 

Talking about design-build, you get the glass back at the back. Different colors will be seen. Aluminum frames are available so the build quality here is quite good. The 8.8mm thickness weighs 207 grams so the phone feels a little heavy when you hold it. 

An air blaster is provided at the top. It has one speaker grill at the top and one at the bottom. It also has two microphones. One mic is on top and the other is below.

There is a SIM tray below, where dual nano SIM can be installed. On the left, you get the alerts slider. Here, you get three different modes: Ringer, Vibrate, and Silent. 

On the left side there is a power button, above it are the volume up and down keys. There is also an under-display fingerprint scanner. It is quite fast and responsive. Overall, this smartphone is quite thin and the design is also quite good.

Performance

The OnePlus 12R has an upgraded performance. It now uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Now this chipset is quite powerful in itself, like last year's flagship chipset. Apart from that, the AnTuTu scores were around 1.6 million. 

The CPU throttling scores were also quite good with 84% max. Despite being a Chinese variant, the heating was around 43 or 45 degrees Celsius.

RAM Type LPDDR5X, Storage Type UFS 4.0, both these things are amazing. Multitasking apps, open, close, etc. This phone performs very smoothly. All of the testing we did was done with gaming settings set to high. There was no problem.

Display

The 6.78-inch display of the OnePlus 12R has a resolution of 1.5K. It is a Super AMOLED display and has very little chin etc. in the punch hole center. The curved display is premium here and you get a high refresh rate of 120Hz, it is smooth. 

Apart from that, you have a typical brightness of 1600 nits here. But the peak brightness is 4500 nits which is a new upgrade if we compare it with the OnePlus 11R. It has Corning Gorilla Glass and Victus 2 for screen protection. Overall display looks quite premium

Software

The Chinese variant of the OnePlus 12R has Android 14 and ColorOS 14. Since ColorOS runs in China, we will not talk much about the software. But if we talk about India, it will come on Android 14 and OxygenOS 14.

Camera

Talking about the camera, the OnePlus 12R has a 50MP primary sensor. The same Sony IMX890 sensor has been used in it which was in the OnePlus 11R. But you can get a slightly better ISP. 

The chipset has been upgraded a bit, OIS is installed here, and the Max can shoot 4k @30fps videos here. The rest is 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP micro sensor. The camera should have been a little better. 

Apart from this, there is a 16MP camera sensor for selfies which can record 1080p @ 30fps video. The rest of the videos get 10x zoom and the photos get 20x zoom.

Battery

OnePlus 12R gets a big 5500 mAh battery with 100W charging support which is very good.

The price of the OnePlus 12R in China starts from Rs 30000 for the 12GB + 256GB variant but in India, it can start from Rs 45000.
