A new Tecno POP 8 smartphone has been launched. It costs Rs 5999. The smartphone has a 90 Hz display, dual firing speakers, and a 5000 mAh battery with a Type C port. This Tecno smartphone is compact. So first of all we will look at the box here.Â
This is how you get to see the contents in the box packaging. Inside the box, you get to see the actual phone. A transparent silicone case, some extra paperwork pouches, a 10w charger, and a USB Type to Type C charging data cable are also included.

Design & Build QualityÂ
The Tecno Pop 8 smartphone has been launched in 2 colors: Mystery White, and Gravity Black. Here we have this smartphone in Gravity Black color. The rear camera module has a textured side effect, which gives a very premium look to the smartphone. A 3.5 mm jack port can be seen here.
Two SIM cards and one memory card can be inserted into the SIM card slot. A fingerprint scanner can be seen in the power button, which also works quite responsively here. The build quality is good for the price of Rs 5999.
Display
If I talk about the display, they have provided a 6.6"HD+ Hole LCD Dot display. Here you get to see the refresh rate of 90 Hz. So this no doubt screen refresher turns out to be very good.Â
The colors here are also seen to be very vibrant. And 720p Display So here you get to see the certification of Widevine L3. You can watch 540p content on the OTT platform. And one amazing thing is that in a smartphone you also get support for 720P HDR on YouTube.Â
This is even more surprising because the 720p display has 720p HDR support. There is no information about the art and glitter of this smartphone. Indoor visibility is great. However, outdoor visibility in direct sunlight won't be so good.
For display protection, they provided Panda Glass protection on the smartphone. You can see the dynamic port on the dot display here. Here you can see a very nice dynamic port effect whenever you put it on for charging or making a call. So despite being a budget phone, you get to see all such features in this phone.
Processor & Variants
So, they have provided Unisoc's T606 processor on the Smartphone. In these variants, the smartphone is available 64 GB ROM+6 GB RAM*(3 GB+3 GB Extended), 64 GB ROM+8 GB RAM*(4 GB+4 GB Extended), and 128 GB ROM+8 GB RAM*(4 GB+4 GB Extended).Â
The read speed here is 720 MBps, the write speed is 440 MBps, and you get 4 GB RAM. Here you can expand virtually. So combined, you get 8 GB total RAM here.
Gaming Experience
In the AnTuTu benchmark on the Tecno POP 8 Smartphone, we were able to see a score of 240k plus. Max performance of 89 percent in CPU throttling. So the clamshell part doesn't throttle here.Â
Not a gaming-oriented device at all. But, definitely, here we played the BGMI game inside it where we were seeing frame rates of 30 fps. The game was working smoothly here. If it had a frame rate of 40 fps, it could have been better but it is a budget device.
The Call of Duty mobile game was running very smoothly at 60 fps on the Tecno Pop 8 smartphone. There was no problem while playing the COD game.Â
Camera
If we talk about the camera of Tecno POP 8, you get to see a 12-megapixel main camera in the rear. They provided a secondary AI depth camera. The front camera is 8 megapixels with an LED flash.Â
It can record 1080p video at 30 fps using the rear and front cameras. However, other brands in its price range have only an 8-megapixel sensor on the rear camera.
Other Details
Hi OS is provided in the OS of Tecno POP 8. It is based on Android version 13, but it is Android Go. Here you get to see a very light version of Android. You will feel the UI part much smoother. Here they did not provide some pre-installed applications trash.Â
There is no information about software updates and security patch updates.
